This was the biggest Anime Convention and also one of the most important ones. This was not only an experimental vlog to shoot, but also it was my first time having an official meet and greet at a booth (Thanks to Kinfold). Since I was unfortunately inadequate to obtain a press badge this year, I had to not only purchase my badge, but wait in a long line to get inside. One complaint I have about Anime Expo is how security takes so long to run through bag checks. It should not take this long. When attending SDCC which is the biggest convention of Southern California, it doesn’t even take half as long to get inside the convention. Now there are some secret entrances that the lines are not even long to get inside of that people don’t know about, but regardless there are people who wait hours in line to get inside. I’m hoping that they find a better way to let people in, but I highly doubt it. It is all up to the security of the convention.
2019 AX is bigger than last year. AX get’s larger every year with bigger events happening everytime. Even to the point where people who wait in line to watch a movie premiere end up not watching the movie. I’ll be honest, this year anime expo was a mess in terms of handling lines and special events. It could be because of the overwhelming number of people, but once again I personally feel it could be security. It’s always better safe than sorry, but I feel like this was going to far, No one should wait and then not even be able to go inside of a convention.
Regardless of the unorganized security entrance line and getting inside of the convention there was still a lot to offer. There was a ton of things to check out inside of the hall. Many large vendors and companies came to showcase their things. I got to enjoy the Fire Force booth especially to shoot an infernal. I enjoyed looking at a ton of the clothing brands that showcased their limited edition designs for Anime Expo. Limited Edition figures and figures that are short stocked online that were made available at the con. The Artist Alley had a ton to offer with a few vendors down there owning a large space that felt like a full on store. Once you’re inside the convention there is a lot to look at. And it makes it worth waiting those horrid lines.. almost.
My favorite part about AX is the cosplayers. The cosplayers bring out their best cosplays to showcase at Anime Expo. From upcoming cosplayers, well known cosplayers, and even people who just cosplay for fun all come out to congregate and have fun. A ton of unique designs to show.
All in all the video says it all, Anime Expo is worth attending, but be prepared to stay in long lines unless you’re an adequate member of society or AX fixes the security issues.
